A UA Engineering education prepares you for success after college. Research, internships and design projects provide opportunities for you to put your technical skills into practice and develop professional skills such as leadership and communication – before you graduate.
Pivotal Student Engagement
All College of Engineering students are strongly encouraged to complete at least one student engagement course. Many are paid, and they typically count for course credit.
Students can also take non-traditional courses for credit. This includes internship for credit, independent study, or preceptor. A student can only use 3 units of the above listed courses as credit towards their Engineering Electives or Technical Electives. (391, 491, 393, 493, 399, or 499)

24-7 Makerspace for All Engineering Students
Create your next project from scratch at the Engineering Design Center, a workspace for 3D printing, circuit building, soldering, wood and metal fabrication, and much more.

The majority of UA chemical and environmental engineering students work with esteemed faculty and dedicated graduate students on CHEE research such as mineral recovery and reusable water.
