ACS Recognizes Ratcliff for Work at the Forefront of Energy Research
The American Chemical Society is continuing a series recognizing women who work at the forefront of energy research. CHEE associate professor Erin Ratcliff, who researches printable electronic materials and devices, is in the latest edition of the series.
As part of the series, women are asked to share their personal stories of what inspires and motivates them, what has led to their success, and what wisdom they would like to share with the next generation of researchers.
“My favorite aspects of my career have been working on multidisciplinary teams, such as collaborating with staff scientists at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory on complementary spectroscopies, interfacing with industry startups and entrepreneurs to solve manufacturing problems, or partnering in the food–energy–water nexus to develop new ways to train graduate students,” Ratcliff said in an interview with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Her advice to the next generation of researchers? "Be part of a team!" she said. "For me, it is the collaborations that have and will continue to define my career."
