Airborne Atmospheric Research Project
Nov. 26, 2013
During May and June 2012, Armin Sorooshian and doctoral student Taylor Shingler deployed an instrument on the NASA DC-8 during the Deep Convective Clouds and Chemistry Experiment. They participated in over 20 flights across the continental United States measuring how aerosol particles interact with water vapor in the atmosphere.
Their project is sponsored by NASA with the goal of improving understanding of how aerosol particles influence cloud formation and the transmission of solar radiation.
