Graduates Shine at CHEE Convocation

CHEE welcomed 63 undergraduates and 29 graduate students to the ranks of its alums at the department convocation on Saturday, May 14 – the department’s first in-person graduation event since 2019. All students had moments in the spotlight as they walked across the stage to receive their graduation plaques and alumni t-shirts, cheered on by family and friends.
Outstanding Achievements
Several students received additional recognition, including College of Engineering ambassadors, outstanding achievers and Craig M. Berge Design Day award winners.

- Madeline Dailey and Mackenzie Bonny – Outstanding Seniors
- Gabriela Hansen and Tyler Bailey – Don H. White Award for academic achievement
- Ahmed Almunaifi, Madeline Dailey, Josh Lennen and Allison Segapeli – Dr. William Scott Bousman Memorial Award for excellence in the lab
- Daniel Diaz and Eva-Lou Edwards – Outstanding Teaching Assistants
- Jonathan Cervera, Madeline Dailey, Ethan Darmeff and Josh Lennen – Best CHEE senior design team for their project "Waste Aggregate Recycling"
College of Engineering Design Day Recognition
- Tyler J Bailey, Ascii DeLeon Magno, Ahmad Kh A A H Mohammad and Aloysia J Wine – Bly Family Award for Innovation in Energy Production, Supply or Use (Second Place) and AZ Technica Award for Sustainable Manufacturing Innovation
- Paul Satoshi Haynes, Ian Hitner, Marc Manye Ibanez and Victor Vargas – SciTech Institute Award for Best Engineering Analysis
