CHEE Alum Wins Mining 'Medal Of Merit'

The Mining Foundation of the Southwest selected CHEE alumnus William Sircy as a recipient of the organization's 2019 Medal of Merit.

Sircy earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, currently works as the general manager of processing for Freeport-McMoRan in Peru at Cerro Verde. Sircy was awarded the 2019 Medal of Merit: Under 40 Recipient. While at UArizona, Sircy worked as a summer intern at Freeport-McMoRan’s hydrometallurgical facility in Morenci, becoming the fifth generation of his family to work at Morenci.
