I’m sharing one photo with my daughter and one from the fall of 1965 when I was a new MS graduate student working for Dr. Don White. I am in the chemical engineering labs in a cubby hole that I shared with Bill Ahrens. Newton Don sent me the grad school photo. He was a CHEE undergraduate at the time.
It took me three years to get my MS. I had ordered two eight-inch stainless steel pipe end caps to fabricate a pressure vessel and had to wait almost two years to receive them due to the Vietnam War. The ordered parts were a much lower priority than other products needed for the war from the chemical and petroleum industry.
John Heibel, my former roommate, took strobe photos of drops breaking up from a polymer solution. We had to shoot the drops into a pit designed by Dr. Edwards. This was a viscoelastic break-up. John's new wife complained that he was always away until past midnight shooting my drops. I had to tell Dr. Don White that my study must conclude in short order because John had to keep his wife happy.
I was a professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell for 39 years, and I retired in 2010. I volunteer for the town of Westford, Massachusetts Recycling Commission since plastics are a big source of post-consumer waste.
My wife, Jean, whom I met when I was a doctoral student, and I miss our many trips to Tucson and other parts of Arizona, but we are getting too frail to travel long distances.

My husband and I retired and moved to SaddleBrooke, north of Tucson. We traveled to Alaska on a cruise and land tour with our son for our 50th wedding anniversary. Attached is a photo of us in front of the Mendenhall Glacier.

Here’s a photo of my wife Suzanne on "formal night" during our recent transatlantic cruise from Rome to Tampa after an extended stay in Italy. We enjoy travel and spend much of our time on the high seas. Our favorite places include Italy and the Adriatic. Greetings to all!

I went on a 10-day safari to Kenya and Tanzania in September 2022. From Nairobi, we traveled to Tanzania and visited the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti. Then we traveled north to Masai Mara National Park in Kenya. This photo was taken in the northern part of Masai Mara. It was hard to choose just one photo to share!

My husband and I traveled to Italy this spring, visiting six cities and taking in the beautiful scenery and local delicacies. We relied on local tour guides wherever we went so we could fully absorb the culture and history. Rome was our favorite of all the cities we visited. The ancient ruins and beautiful museums were breathtaking. Our trip was a once in a lifetime experience!
I work for the U.S Environmental Protection Agency and was recently featured on the Agency's official Twitter and LinkedIn pages for Women In Engineering Day.

My partner Erin and I visited Canyonlands and a few other national parks this summer. The photo was taken at a lookout point.
I am an assistant professor of practice in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, having discovered teaching was my true calling after finishing my Ph.D. I love to rock climb, play on the "Fierce Pride" co-ed soccer team, and I enjoy acro yoga.

My family and I took a long road trip to visit my parents in Virginia, stopping at many places along the way. Attached is a picture from the Mardi Gras Museum.
