Resource Recovery
Faculty and students develop ways to recover products energy and valuable materials such as nitrogen and phosphorus, critical metals and metalloids from wastewater and waste products
Waste management is undergoing a shift from waste treatment and disposal to resource recovery. Wastewater and other waste materials can be a source of energy and high-value-added products. Resource recovery helps counter global challenges such as resource depletion, scarcity of critical materials, waste generation and environmental pollution.
